Thanks for providing all this informative info on your site. I’m wondering if you could look for some possible options for me. I’m looking for an emerald cut diamond and I would like one that appears as large as possible (while still being eye clean). I plan to set it in platinum. I prefer emerald cuts that have a clear long rectangular shape (versus short / fat).
Thanks again for your help!
I’d be happy to help you out. Whats your ballpark budget?
My budget is about 13K for the stone. I can go as high as 14K but would prefer less than 13K if possible.
I found this stone on James Allen – what do you think?

Thanks!
That diamond is not eye-clean. I would recommend this one instead:

I really like the cut on this diamond (the L:W ratio is fantastic).
What do you think?
Thanks for your email. It turns out that my boyfriend has strong opinions about this and wants to get a round brilliant diamond. I’m willing to go as high as 15K for the stone. I would still like a stone as large as possible, eye clean, and with as much sparkle as possible. Here are some of the ones I found:

https://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/J-SI1-Excellent-Cut-Round-Diamond-1546436.asp – not sure if the inclusion at 12:00 on the picture is visible
Do either of these look good to you? Are there any others that you would recommend?
Thanks!
The inclusion may be visible, but you can ask JA to have the diamond set so the prong of the ring conceals most of it.
Thanks Mike. Do you think that the J SI1 is better than the I SI2 then?
Yes. Sorry, that was what I meant to say.
