Been a long time visitor of your site and finally looking at an engagement ring. My girlfriend has picked at a local store (I am from Canada so the store is Peoples – a division of Zales.) The ring she picked can be seen here:

The ring at our local store is an H, I2, Good cut. It is on sale for $3499.00 + 200 for their warantee which she is worried about because they offer lifetime replacement on the stone if anything happens.
My target price is around $3000.
I am thinking of building something similar from James Allen.
Here is the stone I had in mind. An I1 but looks great, also an H, but an Ideal cut and slightly smaller at .86ct versus 1ct.
I was going to go with this cathedral setting which looks similar to the one from Peoples.
I would very much value any input you have to offer.
That diamond is not eye-clean, but it is worlds better than a Zales I2. It’s cut very nice and will look great in that setting..
