Hi Ira, I would like to purchase a princess cut diamond that has maximum brilliance and fire. My current specifications are
gia certified
vvs1-vvs2
e color
polish ex-vg
symmetry ex-vg
depth 68-75% is this the biggest factor to achieve the most fire and brilliance?
table under 75%
The diamond would be going into a halo center mount with a thin band. My budget is 2,000-3,500 a lot of stones within that range have poor tables and depth and from the one I’ve seen in person this decreases it sparkle.
Any diamond suggestions or advice to achieve the most brilliance and fire would be kindly appreciated.
Thanks this site is an eye opener!
This looks like a great choice for you:

There’s no reason to stick with VVS only. A VS1 will still be absolutely completely clean to the naked eye.
Let me know what you think!
Hi Ira, thanks for suggesting this diamond for me. I definitely would be getting my money’s worth weight wise with this stone. I see the one pinpoint inclusion in this stone but given that it table and depth are ideal would this stone have just as nice brilliance and fire as a vvs2 or vvs1 stone?
For sure. THe pinpoint makes absolutely no difference whatsoever in the brilliance of the stone. It’s a pinpoint that you can barely see under 10x magnification.
Hi Ira I came up empty on the stone you suggested because I waited too long, I have another one that I wanted you to look at the report can be found here
http://certs.rapnet.com/userfolders/13227/Certs/752-9046.pdf, please let me know if this is a good value at 3400 or should I negotiate. If however it is a poorly cut stone please recommend me another.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
This stone has a better cut, and it’s a lot cheaper: https://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/E-VS1-Ideal-Cut-Princess-Diamond-1481339.asp
Again, there is no visual difference between a VVS2 and a VS1.
Hi Ira do you see anything in the .75-.8 range on James Allen that would be better. I wanted to at least hit the .75 if not I will probably take this stone off the market because it is specification wise where I want it to be.
This one’s nice, but it has MB Fluorescence:

I have my money ready so what is the best one on JA in my price range no more than 3500 with e color vs1-vvs2.
Thanks I appreciate your help with my search,
Then I would go with this one:

Thanks so much Ira I have secured the purchase of this stone. I appreciate your emails over the past month and I know my fiancee will drop when she see the brilliance and fire in this particular stone on her chosen setting.
I really appreciate you taking your time to assist me in my search Thanks again!
That’s so great to hear! I hope the hurricane won’t delay things too much.
And please do stay in touch and let me know what you think when it arrives.
