Hi, I’ve bought a ring from Blue Nile – 0.72 GIA XXX, E, IF with minor polish and faint flouresence. Today I received the ring and I think the diamond is cloudy. I was hoping I could ask for a second opinion based on the pictures I have taken in various lights?
Can you send me a link to that diamond? And the GIA report? I’d be happy to check it for you.
Thanks for your help, I really appreciate it. Attached are the photos I have taken and the GIA cert.
Here is the link to the diamond on BN:

Thank you.
Looking at the cert, there is nothing that would indicate any haziness, the diamond is superb. No fluorescence, no clouds… And it looks beautiful in most of the pictures, it’s very clear. It looks only hazy in the pictures taken inside (I’m guessing?) in which case I’d say it’s the lightning to blame (diamonds need to reflect light in order to be brilliant (sparkly) and when there’s lack of light, the stone might not look as impressive as usual.
It’s really strange as the diamond has absolutely fantastic specs. But if you are not happy with it, you can send it back and choose a new one. Blue Nile has a great return policy.
I really appreciate the feedback. You’re correct, the hazy pictures were taken indoors in low lighting conditions.
I’ve worn it in the office today with great lighting condition and it has lots of fire and sparkle so I’ve decided to keep it.
I’m happy to hear that. I’m sure the diamond is a real head turner!
