I am a little concerned about purchasing something so expensive online without seeing it first – any thoughts as to whether this is a good cut, eye clean diamond?
The diamond is absolutely eye-clean and it is a beautiful example of a nice emerald cut with no black windowing. It’s going to look amazing in person. As for the cut, I’d need to check it in the IGI report. Since the diamond has already been purchased, I’m not able to request the certificate, but you can send it to me if you want, I’ll gladly take a closer look.

One comment I wanted to let you know and get your opinion. The diamond looks great, but at some angles and in some lights I can see a sliver of my finger thru the diamond. It’s only one or two facets and I don’t think noticeable other than me, but wanted to ask as to how common this is in an emerald cut.

The glassy appearance of emerald cuts makes them transparent so it’s completely normal to see your finger through the diamond. It’s not an issue.

We received it over the weekend. It seems to sparkle well on the top and bottom and reflect well in the middle. The videos are a variety of lights and I don’t see dark spots, so I think it’s reflecting well. The goal is to set this in something similar to the attached image (pave three stone setting). I think it will look sensational – it just hard to imagine it all set.
Here’s a couple of videos on how it performs. I think it performs well, but I have an untrained eye and would welcome your thoughts.
I think it performs beautifully. There is no black windowing, no yellowness, and no imperfections. Are you having the setting custom made? The complete design looks spectacular!
I agree – I don’t see any issues and it performs nicely in many different lighting environments. It is so hard buying such an important and expensive item online sight unseen!
