I am in the process of buying an engagement ring for my girlfriend. I have found that B2C Jewels has very good prices. Would you recommend to get a diamond from them?
I wanted to buy this good price 0.70 carat Excellent cut, H color, VS1 at $2,197 diamond but it has a strong blue fluorescence that stopped me from buying it. (GIA 2136370430). B2C is telling me the diamond might look a bit blue.
So, then they suggested me a 0.70 VS2 I Excellent cut, none fluorescence (GIA 1149416101) at a lower price $1,939. This is the picture attached. But then I noticed a crystal inclusion just in the center and I am concerned that this will show in the diamond with naked eyes. What would be your suggestion in this case?
How low will you go for 0.70 excellent cut carat? in terms of clarity, color, polish and symmetry..
I appreciate your help.
I apologize for the delay in responding. I’m on vacation in NYC and have been backed up a bit. Do you still want some help?
Thanks for your response! I hope you are enjoying your vacation! And YES I still need some help.
The diamond with strong fluoresce that I was talking about was sold, so we can take it out of the equation.
Regarding the other diamond 0.70 VS2 I Excellent cut, none fluorescence (GIA 1149416101) at a price of $1,939 is still available (http://www.b2cjewels.com/dd-3433364-0.70-carat-Round-diamond-I-color-VS2-clarity.aspx) , however these were the comments from the gemologist:
This diamond looks slightly brownish with the naked eye.
It also has a very small black & white inclusion at the corner of the table.
However the inclusions are not visible at the 1st look.
Based on these comments I am not convinced in buying this diamond, specially since I plan to put it in a white gold solitaire setting.
Another diamond that I think is at a good price and fits my budget is this one http://www.b2cjewels.com/dd-3312591-0.66-carat-Round-diamond-H-color-SI1-clarity.aspx
These are the comments from the gemologist:
This diamond is available for purchase.
It has three small black inclusions in the pavilion which reflects in the crown & a small white feather inclusion in the crown as well as at the table.
It has a very small white inclusion at the table.
The medium fluorescence slightly affects the diamond and it looks slightly bluish with the naked eye and it is eye clean as none of the inclusions are visible with the naked eye.
Apparently it has no inclusions visible to the naked eye, the price is great and with a color H I think I am safe on the “yellowish/brownish” tone. Also, the diameter I think is a good size for 0.66 carat. The fluorescence as being medium I am not too concerned.
I would like to know your opinion on these diamonds. And also what feedback do you have on the B2C jewels company?? Are they a trusted company??? Their prices are great.
My budget is $2,000 for the diamond without the ring and I want something between 0.65 and 0.70 carat.
Thanks for your help in advance and sorry for the long email…
…….
I am sorry to keep bombarding you during your vacation…but I really need some help…
I have been doing more research, and I found this nice diamond at James Allen that fits my budget:
I think the size is great for 0.63 carat. The guys at James Allen assured me it is eye clean.
What do you think? Also please let me know on the other questions I have sent you…
Is there a reason you are sticking with B2C? We are not fans of sites without photos (in general) and have had terrible feedback from readers about B2C (in particular).
B2C has the best prices and I really like one of the settings they have, but I have decided to go with James Allen based on the customer service they have and the picture availability.
Can you please give me your opinion on these 3 diamonds? They are in preference order…
I like the first and third ones.
