Hi,
We are looking for a diamond for a ring. I have looked at several and have shortlisted these. I would greatly appreciate your insight into this. Budget is =< $7000. We want a round cut diamond.

May I ask what style setting you want to put the diamond into? I want to make sure the I color grade wouldn’t look yellow in it.

I’m not a huge fan of the cut on this one, the 60% table is a bit too high.
We are thinking of this setting in 14k white Gold:
Petite Pavé Diamond Engagement Ring in 14k White Gold (1/4 ct. tw.)
We are concerned about I color being appropriate for this setting and would greatly appreciate your advice on the appropriate diamond.
I searched again with the following search criteria:
Cost: <$8,000
Round shape
Carat: 1.20 – 1.35
Color: G or better VS2 or better

I will greatly appreciate your insight into this. Also if there are any other diamonds that you think we should consider then please let me know.
I color is a perfect choice for a pave setting. There wouldn’t be any yellowness in it. And the Blue Nile ring is set with I-color melee diamonds so an I-color center stone would work very well with it. To be honest, G+ color is a bit of a waste of money, it would look identical to the I. But you go with what you like and feel comfortable with.
Some of the diamonds you sent me have strong or medium fluorescence and I would exclude them immediately. There’s a high chance those would look hazy in daylight. For DEFG diamonds you should get only none or faint fluorescence to make sure they’ll have maximum brilliance. The only diamond that I like from your list is this one: Blue Nile LD03575286 . It looks great on paper. Since it’s a VS2, it would be a good idea to request a phot/video as well to make sure it’s eye-clean.
