Hi I need help finding the best diamond for the money. The minimum carat weight is 1.5 and up to 2.0 my budget is 10,000 to 12,000. I have been looking at the james Allen website but it seems overwhelming. I prefer only the GIA certificates. The setting will be platinum with side stones or channel set and she prefers a thicker band. Any help, will be much appreciated

I would like to add the round shape also to our search, but it seems like you get more diamond for the money with the princes cut verses the round.
That is incorrect. Check out our post on size:

While its true that you will get a ‘heavier’ princess for your price, the dimensions will be far smaller. Just let me know which shape you prefer visually. That is the most important factor.
Thank you for pointing this out. I was only looking at cost. I know she wants at least a carat and a half minimum and she seems to be leaning towards the round shape in a setting that puts the diamond up high in the ring.
Could we please look at both, I’m more interested in quality vs quantity.
Thank you very much for your help.

They are both fantastic values. What do you think of them?
They both look great. How would I pick one over the other? I assume they are both 100% eye clean.
Any recommendations on how to find a setting, local jeweler or something from the JA website?
I would go with the second one. The inclusion is on the edge. You can ask JA to cover the inclusion and it will be no problem at all.
Is it worth looking at VS2 clarity?
I don’t think its worth it. I think both of those are eye-clean. I picked that one as you can be sure it will be eye-clean from all angles. I think going up to VS2 is a waste.
