Hello, I was wondering if you could take a look at a diamond for me and let me know your thoughts? I’ve been utilizing the Ringo tool to weed out diamonds that aren’t eye clean.
I already have a white gold halo setting, so I’m looking for a round center stone. Please let me know what additional information, if any, you need. THANK YOU!!!
May I ask what color diamonds are there in the setting/around the center stone? I want to make sure the center stone wouldn’t look yellow next to them (typically, we don’t go below an H color as lower grades tend to have a yellow hue – most melee diamonds are F/G).
I did reach out and was told they’re G-H color.
Thank you for the info.
If the melee diamonds are G/H, a J color would have a strong yellow hue compared to them. Even I color might be an issue, especially on a 1.5ct+ diamond. The lowest color grade I would go with is an H.
At the same time, I understand if size is your priority. If you don’t mind the diamond having a slight yellow hue, I’m happy to recommend some nice I-color options as well. Let me know what you think.
I certainly don’t want the diamond to look yellow in the setting, I’d like stay at or above an H in color then.
Ok. How much are you looking to spend on the diamond?
I was trying to stay under 10k for the center stone but if it’s not possible I understand. Other than what we’ve already talked about my only goal was to get a diamond with a diameter greater than 7.5mm. I felt anything smaller didn’t look right in the setting.
Perfect, thanks.
How would you like this diamond?

I didn’t find any recommendable options for less. This one has fantastic specs and no major imperfections. It has a small crystal on the edge of the table, but that should get unnoticed in the structure.
Could you tell me your thoughts on this diamond? The Gia report states it may be cloudy but the pictures look great…
Unfortunately, it would have zero brilliance. Its cert says “clarity grade based on clouds not shown.” This means there is a very large cloud that covers a large percentage of the diamond and saps the brilliance from it. You should never buy a diamond with this note.
Haziness is tricky as it might not be visible in pictures/videos. But you would notice the lack of brilliance in person.
Thank you so much you saved me on that one, would this one be that same thing?

This one looks great! It has no worrisome clarity characteristics and it has a nice cut. Good find!
Thank you so much for all your help! I did in fact end up purchasing that diamond.
