Hello,
I am looking at purchasing a diamond ring and am looking to find the best overall diamond that is in the $3,500-$4,000 range. I would like to be close to 1 carat but realize it will probably be a little smaller to get a nice diamond.
I’m not sure how much weight I should give to color vs clarity and just need help finding the overall best diamond in my budget. I have been looking on James Allen but am open to other places as well if there is a better deal.

I just wanted to confirm that even with the yellow gold prongs (the link shows white gold prongs but I will be replacing with yellow gold) added to the setting that the second option you provided would still look colorless.
Yes, I would go for a J color stone set in a yellow gold pave. Unless you’re extremely color sensitive, I would stick with this grade.
