Hello,
I’m researching engagement rings and I just wanted to thank you so much for your site! The information has been very helpful, as prior to stumbling across your site I was trying to balance all 4 Cs equally, but now have a better understanding about how to prioritize them.
My girlfriend wants Blue Nile’s East-West Solitaire ring in yellow gold.
Would you be so kind as to recommend several diamonds in about the $6k-$6.5k price range?
Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide!
Here are some options I found:
Blue Nile LD09957782
They are all eye-clean, well cut and will look very bright and brilliant. Even though the last two are heavier (more carat weight), they aren’t larger than the first two. I like the very first one the most.
Let me know what you think.
Thank you so much for the recommendations. If you’ll forgive an ignorant question, what makes you like the first diamond the best?
Also, I’m a little nervous about purchasing a J color diamond vice something higher. I’ve read on your site (and others) how a J diamond is a fine fit with yellow gold, but could you give me some reassurance on this? Of course, I want it to be just right for my special girl! 🙂
I love the first one as there is no big difference in the price and it’s the largest one of all while being beautifully cut as well.
J color does look absolutely stunning in a solitaire setting in any metal. We recommend it all the times and we receive A LOT OF positive feedback. You wouldn’t benefit from getting a higher color for that setting.
I’m leaning towards the last (1.23 carat) of the 4 diamonds you sent me, but I also stumbled across this 1.18 carat one that I was hoping to get your opinion on. How do you think the two compare?
The 1.18ct you found looks great! It’s just a tad smaller which is compensated with the price. Both are fantastic choices.
Great find!
Let me know which one you decided on.
I did it! Pulled the trigger on the 1.18 carat diamond we discussed.
Thank you again for all your help!
Fantastic! I’m happy that you did. I think you’ll be happy with it.
