Dear Diamond Pro,
Can you help me select an engagement ring?
I am looking to spend between $5,000-7,500 on the ring (including both the diamond and the setting). The setting will be yellow gold and the cut will be round. I do not need any additional diamonds on the setting or around the center stone.
I am thinking 0.7 carats and up, but I’m pretty flexible when it comes to size. I just want it to look great!
Thank you.
I found these options for you:
Blue Nile LD13516297
Blue Nile LD13602374
But you can get a much bigger diamond within your budget. For example these:
Blue Nile LD13622836
Blue Nile LD13211474
Thanks! I’ve studied your site and YouTube videos quite a bit. It is super helpful. I’ll be sure to use this email address and I’ll also try to use the $50 promo code from your site.
I like the bigger ones. I don’t have a specific carat size in mind, but definitely would prefer 1 or 1+ carats since it’s in the budget.
Once I get a few that are eye-clean, I can just pick one. If the ones you sent me will all look roughly the same, I like the one that is most affordable (Blue Nile LD13622836). I noticed it has a small black spot right in the center. I assume that will not be visible to the naked eye?
I had been looking at this one too (Blue Nile LD13269481), but it is J. Is the difference between J and I or J and H visible to the average person?
Here is another one that I’d be interested to know whether it’s eye-clean: Blue Nile LD13628935
Blue Nile LD13622836 – As for the eye-cleanliness, in my opinion, you won’t be able to notice any blemishes with your naked eye. Bear in mind those videos are extremely magnified.
Blue Nile LD13269481 – If you plan to go with a solitaire setting as you mentioned, it’s a perfect choice. The color difference would be noticeable when compared side by side with a diamond that has a higher color grade. But once it’s set, it looks colorless to the majority of people.
Blue Nile LD13628935 – I wouldn’t recommend this one as it has a very strong fluorescence. It might cause a hazy/milky look in daylight.
I also found these:
Blue Nile LD13354673
Blue Nile LD13606829
Thank you! I’m going to try to get this one: Blue Nile LD13354673 that you recommended!
That’s great you like it. Please keep me posted.
I bought that with a gold setting using the promo code from your site. It actually gave me $100 off rather than $50.
Thanks very much for your help!
That’s wonderful news!
Please let me know how you like the diamond when it arrives.
The ring looks perfect. I’m so happy you like it!
