Hi,
My girlfriend and I may never marry so the diamond is an expression of simply our joy together…
I wanted to purchase the prettiest square shaped diamond in a simple setting. Looking for what you might show me if it were you getting it for her.
Thanks.
I’d be happy to make some recommendations for you, but I need a little more info. Do you have a budget in mind? And by square shape, do you mean a princess cut or cushion cut stone? Or a square radiant?
My budget is 10,000 for setting and stone.
I would like your opinion on whether a princess cut looks better than cushion.
Whether a princess cut looks better than cushion cut, that’s entirely a matter of personal preference. Different people have different tastes. How does your girlfriend feel about each of those shapes?
In the meantime, you can take a look at what I found and decide which shape you like better:
Blue Nile LD13596709
Blue Nile LD12972027
These two diamonds are the largest eye-clean and well cut options I found for up to $10k. They have a beautiful cut and either of them would make an amazing ring.
If you are not too concerned about size, I also have another recommendation for a cushion cut center stone. It’s from Brian Gavin who is known as one of the worlds experts when it comes to perfectly cut diamonds. BGD’s Signature diamonds are truly fantastic. They are all incredibly brilliant. https://www.diamonds.pro/reviews/brian-gavin/

I spoke with her about what her preference was on cut and she likes square-ish like princess or square radiant cut.
…
Could you find a more squarish cushion cut diamond 1.2ct?
I found this beautiful 1.2ctstone:
Blue Nile LD13729872
I ordered the 1.6ct princess cut you recommended from Blue Nile.
Thanks again for your help.
That’s great news! I’m glad you liked my recommendation so much, it was an excellent choice.
