I am looking to design an engagement ring on James Allen and not sure which oval diamond to choose.
I know I want to get a rose gold setting so which color diamond should I look for. I know you recommend J or K but sometimes I think that is too much color. Also what clarity is good? You did mention SI1 or 2, is that really unnoticeable to the naked eye?
For a rose gold setting, I wouldn’t go lower than an H color. Fancy shape diamonds don’t refract light just as well as round diamonds and thus tend to show their true color more.
Regarding the clarity grade, it always depends on the particular diamond and its inclusions. I’m happy to make some recommendations to you, can you tell me your ballpark budget for the center stone?
