I am torn between an oval and an emerald cut that would be set in a yellow gold solitaire setting. My budget cap is $9,000 for the diamond. I have narrowed my search down to these two, can you tell me which is a better buy or if I could do better for the price?

Thank you so much for your fast response! That information is extremely helpful. I do love the sparkle of the ovals, but the emeralds have always caught my eye in a different way that I can’t ignore.
I am torn between the original 1.6 I found and the 1.8ct emerald that you selected. The 1.8 is extremely eye clean for a VS1, and I also don’t notice a difference with the polish or symmetry either. I really believe we will go with one of those, possibly pulling the trigger tonight.
