Q&A: Comparing 2 Sets of Diamond Studs

By Mike Fried,

I have 2 other choices for diamond studs to compare (other choice was sold before I decided to buy).

1. The first set was on another site, but James Allen had the exact same stones & said they would match the price (the prices were lower on brilliance.com) & I would buy them from James Allen. The diamond would cost about $4561, but the findings are $225 for 14k white gold screw backs, which is more expensive than other sites & weren’t even offered on the site – I had to request them.
2.The Blue Nile set is closer in depth % and higher in clarity. How much does that matter in comparison to the other set for earrings? The girdles are in the thin range & one stone has an extra facet, but it is VVS2. These diamonds would cost $5018, but I can get 14k white gold martini setting for $100, still making this set $332 more – but I can spend that it if this pair is better.
Thank you for your thoughts.

We have not had good feedback from readers about BN when it comes to earrings. I would recommend sticking with JA.
