Thanks so much for all of your helpful information on this website! I am looking for the best value for a cushion cut between 1.2-1.5 ct, a l/w ratio closer to 1 (square), a beautiful cut between $4000-$6000. I have been looking at James Allen and have found some good stones, just would like your advice on the matter. The stone will be set in a double halo white gold setting with avg color of round stones H color. I know you mention not to go lower than H color but it seems that I color diamonds present a better value, what’s your opinion is there that much of a difference?
I’m so glad I found your site because I have been looking on BlueNile primarily before, now I understand the importance of really seeing the actual diamond! Comparing to even buying downtown Los Angeles in the Diamond District it still seems to be a bit cheaper to buy online especially considering the lack of sales tax. Thanks so much I appreciate your time!
With that type of setting, you should get an H+ diamond. I love this one for you:
What do you think?
I do like that diamond a lot, although I would prefer a more square length/width ratio. I was also looking at this
There is quite a difference in price but in terms of value how does it compare?
I was also looking at this:
I am more concerned with value for the largest dimensions and best cut, I have some room in terms of budget.
Thanks!
Those are both beautiful diamonds and if you are looking for a square cushion, they are the way to go.
I was wondering if you could give me your opinion on this diamond, it is a great price so I’m wondering if the inclusions wouldn’t be too visible since they aren’t black, especially once set. Please let me know.
Thank You!
That diamond is a no-no. The inclusion is huge and it’s on the edge, which makes it a much riskier diamond (high risk of chipping).
Ok thanks so much!
My pleasure.
Hi Mike!
I came across this diamond a little while ago and was wondering what your thoughts are on it? It seems to be eye clean to me, but you are the expert!
Thanks!
I would ask JA’s gemologist to inspect it. It seems eye-clean, but the inclusions may add to the risk of chipping. If it is far enough away from the corner that it is not a risk, it’s a great deal.
