I purchased a 1.03 VS2 G Cushion Cut diamond from James Allen. When it’s out in the sunlight, half of it looks ‘cloudy’. We are planning to exchange it.
Is it possible to have a cushion cut diamond that is not cloudy in the center? Or is that the nature of the cut.?
Can you recommend a similar James Allen diamond that would be clear?
Can you send me a link to the diamond?
They don’t have it on their site anymore. I guess I need to know if we should stay with the Cushion or switch to a Round Brilliant cut.
My wife really wants her diamond to sparkle in dim and bright light. Even outside in the sun. From what I have read, Cushion cuts are not meant for brilliance. However, we have seen some Cushion cut diamonds that really ‘pop’.
Do you agree? And if you do agree, can you help us find some James Allen Cushion cuts that ‘pop’.
The carat must be at least 1.00 and their should be no visible (from 1 foot away) inclusions or imperfections. And our budget is around $4200 thru $4800.
Thanks
Cushion cuts can be brilliant. Its true that round diamonds have the maximum return of light (sparkle, in lay terms), but that doesn’t mean cushions aren’t nice. The reason I was asking for the link is that cut is paramount in determining the brilliance.
This diamond is great. It’s bright, eye-clean and a great value. What do you think?
