Hello Diamonds Pro,
I’m looking for a diamond. So far am thinking about 1.7ct, G, VVS2, ideal cut. I’m ok to go a bit lower / bigger on size, but on color and clarity don’t want to make any compromises (but I’m missing the experience to say what you really need so that it shines perfectly and you can’t spot and spots without a binocular).
It would be very much appreciated if you could help me find 2-3 options.
Many thanks & have a good weekend.
May I ask what shape you’re interested in? And what style setting you want to put it into?
I’m only looking for a stone for now… I’m working on the ring in parallel… It would be a solitaire (platinum).
I’ve found the two stones below which are available for fast shipping.
Would be great to have your view!
…
There is one more stone I came across that I wanted to share with you.
I absolutely love this one you found: www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut/1.67-carat-g-color-vs1-clarity-true-hearts-cut-sku-4748744?a_aid=dmnd1357. It’s fantastically cut and much cleaner than the other JA diamond.
If you are based in the UK, going with Blue Nile would make much more sense. They have an office in Dublin (which would make everything faster) and you wouldn’t have to pay any import fees and taxes.
Blue Nile LD13183136
This diamond from them is an excellent option. It has fantastic overall specs.
Can I ask you one more question:
We were looking at this one which I quite like:
I found the following two which are either bigger or better in color. Are they a better deal or what am I missing?
As for the two newest options you sent me, they have medium fluorescence that is undesirable on G and higher colors. It can cause haziness. Also, the G diamond is very poorly cut, it’s way too deep and would be less brilliant. Because of the depth issue, it’s also almost the same size as my 1.68ct recommendation (see the real measurements).
Thanks – I’ve ordered the initial one at Blue Nile.
Really appreciate your help!
That’s fantastic news! It was an excellent choice.
