Hi.
I was thinking of upgrading my 1 carat diamond studs which are not great quality. I looked at eBay and the prices of 1 carat studs were astounding. How can a 1 carat F color VS1 sell for under $1,000? The description show they are color enhanced. Sounds too good to be true.
We don’t recommend artificially enhanced diamonds.
1) They are completely worthless when it comes to resale/trade in value. You shouldn’t look at diamonds as an investment, but you shouldn’t ignore that completely. You can’t know if the color change is permanent or not.
2) They never have legitimate certification.
When it comes to something like this, the classic rule remains true: If something looks too good to be true, then it probably is.
I’d be more than happy to help you find a decent pair of earrings with a legitimate certification if you like.
Thank you so much for this info. You probably just saved me $1,000. Yikes.
I am looking to purchase a pair of diamond studs, decent quality and about 1 carat. Not sure what the price is going to be for said diamonds.
Happy to help, I know that sometimes it’s not easy to navigate the diamond buying process.
Just to confirm, are you looking for 1 total carat weight?
Yes, I’d like a decent quality pair of 1 carat natural diamond studs set in 14 karat gold. I’d like to pay approximately $1,000 if that’s possible.
Unfortunately, it’s not possible to find a decent 1tcw pair for only $1,000. The cheapest pair of diamonds I can recommend is the following one (the cost of the setting is not included):
They are beautiful!
Just to be clear, the price is per diamond plus the setting?
Yes, the price is for the two diamonds + setting of your choice.

Great! These are not enhanced correct? Can or will the jeweler set the diamonds for me?
The diamonds are not enhanced, they have great overall specs and are certified by the GIA, the most accurate and reputable grading lab in the industry.
Blue Nile would set the earrings for you and you’d receive a complete pair.
I want to thank you so much for your help.
