Hello I am in need of expert diamond advice,
I am interested in a diamond ring that is around $3,000 – $5,000 with the following characteristics:
Cut: Oval
Setting: Solitaire or Halo
Metal: White Gold
Carat: 0.8 to 1.2 preferred but I am open to anything that look brilliant
I have seen a few diamonds in person at jewelry stores but they are wayyy too expensive when compared with a similar diamond on James Allen. Just want to make sure I am picking out an excellent diamond and setting for the price point, any help is greatly appreciated.
I found a bunch of great-looking options in your preferred price range:

All of them are well cut and eye-clean. They have a minimal bow-tie and would be very bright and brilliant in real life.
I love these two diamonds that you suggested:

I’m glad you liked my suggestions! I love them too.
The setting I am going to choose is this halo pave setting:
14K White Gold Pave Halo Diamond Engagement Ring (Oval Center)
I was going to set it with the 0.91k oval diamond you had selected for me but it appears that the diamond was purchased, are there any ones similar to this that you have reviewed and approved?
No worries, here’s a couple of new ones:

Do you see any diamonds that are in the $3,000 price range similar to this diamond?

I really like the 0.90 carat diamond you sent in the link above but just want to see if there are any similar for a lower price, or do you think that the extra $600 is worth it for this diamond? I just want to make sure I’m not overpaying since it’s a D color diamond.
I didn’t choose the D-color diamond because of its color (you can see that the second G one is even pricier), but it happened to be one of the best looking options in that particular carat weight range (0.9ct). I always search in the H+ category, but if you are familiar with JA’s inventory, you know that the diamonds there are in no particular order (I search by price). If there was a good-looking H stone, I would’ve send it over. Sometimes it happens that a stone with higher grades is the better choice.
Just wanted to let you know I decided to go with the 0.90 carat diamond with the D-color that we discussed. It looked so amazing with the setting and I couldn’t pass it up. I just placed my order. I appreciate all the help you provided, it truly means a lot and it helped me enormously in making a confident decision on the perfect ring 🙂
That’s fantastic news! I’m glad I could help you with this tremendously important step in your life.
