2 friends referred me to this site. Looking for the best value diamond possible, would love some help!
Can you also tell me what style of setting (solitaire, halo, pave or other), metal (white or yellow gold) and shape of diamond you’re looking for? One last question, what’s your approximate budget? Then I’ll be happy to send you my suggestion.
I haven’t actually set a budget yet, just trying to get a general sense of what it’s going to cost to get what I’m looking for.
Looking for a round solitaire for a rose gold setting, 2ct.(can be a smidge bigger, but a min of 2ct). Don’t care if there are imperfections, as long as they aren’t visible to the naked eye.
Thank you for sending the additional information.
I found these stones for you:
They are both very well cut, eye-clean and going to look colorless in a solitaire rose gold setting.

What do you think?
Is the ‘excellent’ cut on James Allen equivalent to an ideal cut?
And the fluorescence really doesn’t matter, right?
Can you refer me to some good info on girdle measurements? Not sure how to think about that.
Seems like the JA diamond is a better deal
Yes, ideal is another term to excellent. Both stones are beautifully cut.
Girdle is an issue that has little impact on the quality of the stone. You should avoid extremely thick or thin ones. There’s no need to worry about that.
As for the fluorescence, it needs to be blue. Other than that, you can get a stone with strong/medium/faint or none grade.
Both of them are beautiful, the one from James Allen has a slightly better cut.
Let me know what you decide.
Any shot of getting away with a K color diamond on rose gold?
Rose gold is somewhere between yellow and white gold. K color rounds in yellow gold solitaire are fine. But it might have a warm tint in rose gold. I’d stick with J.
Just want to get your take on this diamond, it has some of the combined qualities of the 2 that you recommended below. The only thing that I can see that is different is the girdle…is there anything else about the stone that would lead you to not recommend it?
I’m afraid that the inclusions will be visible. Unless this is the impression you want to get, I wouldn’t go for this stone.
Gotcha. So you’re saying that not all SI1’s are in the same class.
Exactly as you’re saying. In fact, most of them are not eye-clean. If you find one that is, it usually saves you money. But you really need to make sure that the inclusions can either be covered or won’t be eye-noticeable.
Great thanks for the help!
