Hello.
Which stone would you recommend? They’re similar, both J colored however one has medium fluorescent. Thank you for your assistance. This would be a large online purchase.
Thank you!
Unfortunately, the one on JA isn’t eye-clean (the crystal is right in the middle of the table and would be visible to the naked eye. As for the other one from Brilliance, despite the fact that we don’t get good reviews from our readers about them, checking the certificate, it also has a few crystals in the middle which worries me. And because it doesn’t have the actual photo, there is no way to know how big of a problem that is.
I’d be happy to recommend some other options to you. Before I start searching, let me ask you one question.
What style setting (solitaire, pave/side stones/halo) and metal (yellow/white gold, platinum) are you planning to put it in? I just want to make sure the J color won’t look any yellow in it.
Thank you for your thorough response.
I’m looking for a rather large stone therefore concerned that certain clouds and inclusions are more visible to the naked eye. I’m currently looking for a round stone between 4.9 -5.9 carats. I or J color. Excellent/Ideal cut. None to medium florescence. VS2 – SI1. Table: 59.5% – 62.9%. Depth: 59.5% – 62.9%. Polish and Symmetry: Excellent and no Cutlet.
As for style setting, Solitaire and metal: 18 carat white gold. Looking forward to hearing back from you.
As for the specs you gave me, I’d not choose such high table %. The larger the table, the less light refracts through it (sparkles). “Perfect” light refraction usually occurs with tables around 55-57%. The larger a table is, the larger the diamond looks (that is the biggest facet on the top, so it makes the face appear larger). I like the 58-59% as its a good balance between appearance of size and brilliance.
Since you’re looking for such a large stone, it will probably be the best for you if I introduce you to our contact, a wholesaler who might be able to source better options for you. He’s in NY but I’m sure he would be willing work with you remotely as well. What do you think?
For the table I actually meant 54% – 60%. I’m open to your wholesaler.
Thank you.
Great. I’ll put you in touch and you’ll see what he can find for you.
