Hello,
I am trying to find a pair of earrings with 0.5 carat weight each, minimum 5mm in size, budget is $3,000-3,300 total… Your article on cut has been super helpful! I wanted your advice on which one is a better choice among these or if you have a better recommendation. I am trying to compare I,G,H excellent cut diamonds
Thanks in advance!
Before I comment on the diamonds you selected, I have a question: what style setting (solitaire, halo) and metal (yellow/white gold, platinum) do you want to use? This may affect the colors that I recommend for the earrings (as we explain in our post on color).
Solitaire, white gold or platinum.
You can easily go with an I color with no problems at all. It would look beautiful and colorless.

This pair is a wonderful option.
Thanks for checking on the options and recommendation.
One last question. What kind of setting is good? I plan to wear the earrings day/night and not remove them everyday and hoping the diiamonds wont come out.
…
Do you have any recommendations on any other pair of diamond solitaire studs?
Have a look at these pairs:

These two are the most popular settings:
18K White Gold Three Prong Martini Style Stud Earrings
18K White Gold Four Prong Stud Earrings
You can choose the screw back variant for maximum security.
For some additional security, you could consider either double prongs:

or 6 prongs:
14K White Gold Pair Of Scallop Basket Diamond Stud Earrings
It’s up to you.
I was looking at the earrings you recommended:
I liked this one but I am not sure if it has any inclusions visible with naked eye? Also if I take VVS1 clarity, wil that have more resale value than VS1?
Keep in mind that the videos are extremely magnified. If you zoom out a bit, you’ll see how the stone would look in real life. There are no inclusions that would be visible to the naked eye (otherwise I wouldn’t have recommended them). Those diamonds are absolutely eye-clean. You can stick with VVS1 if you want, but it would be a waste of money in my opinion. Regarding the potential resale value, you never know how the diamond market will look like by the time you’d want to sell the diamonds. And in general, seeling diamonds always means losing money.
Thank you so much for helping me decide 🙂 Your experience and recommendation helped me narrow down the choices and gave clarity on how to get to the right decision without wasting more time and getting confused!!
I picked the one you suggested and took the Scallop Basket Setting in Platinum
I just put in an order and am looking forward to getting the earrings. 🙂
Thank you so much for your kind words, I’m glad you were pleased with my guidance. The pair you decided on is absolutely lovely. If you could let me know how you like the earrings when they arrive, I’d appreciate it!
Thank you for your feedback, I’m glad you are happy with your new earrings!
