Looking for sparkle, idealy 1.2 to 1.5 CT. Can have shipped in the US (save taxe!) although I live in Canada. I was thinking between 3000$ to 4000$ (ideal 3000-3500 ). Going crazy here, want something that won’t loose it’s value
Saw this http://www.mcqueenjewelry.com/Round-Diamond-Stud-Earrings/1.50-ct.-tw.-Round-Cut-Diamond-Stud-Earrings-F-FL.html
but they use EGL … how flawed a FL- F colored from EGL can be ?
Was looking into E or F color and VS but you say that a SI in G H would be good in your article on Studs…
Help !!
Thanks for writing. I looked at that link, but I don’t see where it says they use EGL. I wouldn’t trust these guys at all. There’s no way they’re selling truly flawless stones for that price.
Here’s a great pair that will save you a lot because of the size is just under the 0.60ct weight category: https://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/matching-pairs/view.asp?item1=1513843&item2=1518374
Let me know what you think!
Hello Ira, thanks for the quick answer!
They look good and love the price but I was thinking round vs princess … isn’t it more sparkly when it’s round ? What is more popular ?
Rounds are definitely more popular and more brilliant.
Can you recommend some nice ones then ? maybe around 0.58 like you did with squares
Here’s a great pair: https://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/matching-pairs/view.asp?item1=1515607&item2=1522231
Found this true heart while browsing the website you sent … fell in LOVE with the concept 😉
https://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/H-VS2-Excellent-Cut-Round-Diamond-1515738.asp
they did not match them with another hearts and arrow but I found this one :
https://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/I-VS2-Excellent-Cut-Round-Diamond-1519198.asp
what do you think, do they fit together ? I always thought I color was not good but that’s what you suggested
https://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/E-SI2-Ideal-Cut-Round-Diamond-1493044.asp
but could not find a match
What type of setting do you recommend to enhance the diamond ?
If you like the idea of Hearts & Arrows, then you should take a look at Brian Gavin Diamonds, as their H&A are superior to JA’s. Here’s a great pair for you from there:
Let me know what you think of that pair.
Find them small … I would like something more in the 0.55 to 0.6 range
I never saw I color diamonds , was shown in stores some E and F or G and H. Is I still consider a nice color?
I like the concept of hearts & Arrows. I see how it’s visible under the magnifier but I have never seen a real one. Is it more sparkly ? What is better, a better color or more Clarity for sparkle and value?
Thanks!
Another option a little larger:
H&A diamonds are more brilliant because they’re cut with the best possible proportions.
What about I color … still white enough ?
…….
Just read a bit more, seems that on a H&A the color looks better and I color might not be a bad option
I saw in a Montreal wholesale jeweler some SI1 E and SI2 F 0.58 GIA certified for 3900$ Canadian on a white gold Martini ( very good to excellent cut, no fluorescent and good to vgood symmetry / polish)
Now on the link you sent me diamonds look very nice! they are AGS certified VS2 I color H&A at the same price (I don’t know if they are mounted but if not then add the cost of mounting that makes them more expensive)
The color scale is very different (E and F) vs (I) for the same size / same price. I know H&A are more expensive but to the best of your knowledge, on diamond studs, what is the best value and will sparkle more ?
Thanks ! Love jewelry and happy to learn more about it!!
Yes, I is definitely white enough for studs
…….
yes, H&A definitely makes the stones more brilliant for studs. I would take the I color H&A over the VG to EX cut studs.
Then these H&A seem very nice and interest me
…….
Tks! If I want to buy the Brian Gavin, do I enter a special code so they know you referred me ?
What setting is the best ? Martini ? They don’t seem to have them with screw back …
Nothing special to do. It should track automatically, but thank you very much for your concern! It’s very kind.
As for what’s the best setting, I honestly can’t tell you. my professional experience is limited to the loose diamond trade – not jewelry.
