Hi, I’m looking for a 3ct pear cut diamond under $15k.
What style setting (solitaire, pave/side stones/halo) and metal (yellow/white gold, platinum) would you like to put it in?
This may affect the diamond’s color a bit. https://www.diamonds.pro/education/color/
I am interested in a half pave band of about .3-.4 ct weight in 18k white gold.
Thank you very much for the details and the link.
Unfortunately, since you’re interested in such a setting, a 3ct pear shape diamond would cost over 20k. The largest pear shape I found within your budget was around 2ct. Would that be acceptable to you?
I’ve already found that myself, I was hoping to find something a bit larger even 2.5ct.
If you want to keep the quality and visual aspect high enough for the diamond to look bright and brilliant, there isn’t a lot to sacrifice there except the carat weight.
I’ve been looking at I-J color SI1-SI2
Have you seen an I-J diamond in person in the setting you like? Those can look quite yellowish. H+ is what you should be looking for if you don’t want any hue in the diamond.
Yes I have seen one in person. I don’t want a halo so there wouldn’t be that contrast.
They don’t look yellowish only in a halo. But as long as you’ve seen similar ones in person and you didn’t mind, it’s all good. But even with lowering the color, I can’t find anything larger than 2.20ct:
Ok thank you!
My pleasure.
