Thanks for putting this site together, I learned about James Allen through you and I’m really pleased with how they run their site. I’m hoping to put together an engagement ring in the new week or so with a 1.5-1.6 carat diamond. We’ve gone to a few jewelers to look at diamonds and settled on that size range. Her main wish is to get one with lots of “sparkle”, and it looks like you have a lot of experience in that abstract quantity. Mostly I’ve been look at ideal/excellent cut, F-G color, SI1-2. I don’t have a good skill for identifying what you call “eye-clean” though. My price range is around $10k to $12.5k, and the one linked below is on the high end of my price range, but looks like it would work. Could you check it out and maybe suggest alternatives?
Thanks so much for all the information you’ve put together!
I would avoid that diamond. Never buy an SI diamond that says ‘clarity grade based on cloud not shown.’ That means it has a large cloud that saps the brilliance. I would recommend these instead:
What do you think?
Thanks Michael, those look great! I’ll let you know what I go with!
Great. Keep me posted.
