I am in the market to buy a diamond pendant for my wife for our anniversary. What I’m looking for is a round cut diamond in the 1 carat neighborhood. For me value is important – I don’t want to waste any money on stuff that cannot be determined with the naked eye. Seems like something in the $4,000 range? Am I way off? I wouldn’t mind paying a bit more if you think I would get something more for the money.
Is there anything you would suggest?
Thanks!
For a pendant I recommend I+ color. What do you mean by ‘around a carat?’ A decent 1ct would cost $5500 and a 0.90 would be around $4,500. I’m not sure we are on the same page.
For the diamond, now that you have set up some rough book ends, let’s call it the best diamond I can get for $5000 (I’m not hung up on it being exactly 1 carat). What other information do you need?
I would recommend this diamond for you:

It’s bright, eye-clean and an excellent value. What do you think?
Awesome!!! Just what I was looking for. She will love it. I can see your trademark all over this diamond. By that I mean although it is a SI1 diamond, all of the imperfections are clear and none are on the face where they would be noticed. Couldn’t ask for a better value.
I couldn’t be happier with your advice. I just ordered it on a nice pendant setting. I’ll give you some feedback after it arrives!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
Sounds great.
Thanks for writing and letting us know. I’m delighted that you were pleased with our help.
Let me know how it looks when it arrives.
Just writing back to you to give you some feedback…
As you would expect, the diamond is absolutely beautiful. Even in the very low light conditions of the romantic restaurant that we went to, you could see that diamond sparkling! Big success. There is no replacement for a quality diamond.
Thanks again for your help!
That is great news. I’m glad to hear that.
