I’m considering buying small diamond for my gem collection and am educating myself is this process. I can’t fathom the real reason for the price difference between these two stones.

Stone 1 has better grade and color. Both have an excellent cut. Yes, Stone 1 is 1 point smaller but is also $110 cheaper with it’s quality advantages. Why on earth would Stone 2 be priced so much higher with inferior specs (unless I’m wrong). Given the 1pt spread it seems like to me that stone 1 would be a “relative” deal.
Honestly, jump on the 0.29. Prices are calculated off of an industry price sheet. The prices increase once you hit the next weight range. The person who owns the 0.29 should be charging a premium off of the 0.20-0.29ct price sheet, but they aren’t. So it is a steal!
