I am looking to purchase a ring including setting for between 9-10k. I’d like it to be brilliant and clean to the eye, I’d prefer something of at least 1.5 carat. Let me know our thoughts.
I’d be happy to make some recommendations and guide you through the process. What type of setting are you considering? Yellow gold or white gold/platinum? Will it be a solitaire or does it have sidestones/pave? This may affect the colors that I recommend for the center diamond (as we explain in our post on color).
Let me know and I’d be happy to send you some suggestions.

Yellow gold or white gold/platinum? White Gold (would have gone with platinum but read it needs to be replaced every 8-10 yrs)
Will it be a solitaire or does it have sidestones/pave? Pave
My requirements “it sparkles”, eye clean, as white as posible, at least 1.5 karat, round (also would like to get a setting that will make the diamond looks the biggest so if there is a better setting then I chose let me know)
My budget for the ring is 10k, but this is somewhat arbitrary if it costs 1-2k that’s fine.

I really like that first one. It’s bright, eye-clean and will look great in that setting. What do you think?
Thanks. I was also looking at the below one, what are your thoughts on this one?
Also what are your thoughts on this one.
Those are poor choices. The first one is a terrible cut and the second one is not eye-clean. Stick with the first one I recommended.
Hmmm, I spoke to James Allen they mentioned this one would be eye clean. I am so confused 🙁 Any chance you can recommend a VS1 or VS2 1.5 diamond? I don’t mind to spend a little more.
Thanks.
…….
One more, also for this one i requested a IS. I think i might be overthinking this one, but with so much money i figured i should get it right.
Thanks.
Let me rephrase what I said. I don’t think the I VS2 you selected was any nicer than the SI1 I did. The inclusion is smaller, but its right on the table. That SI1 is right on the edge and will not be noticeable at all, especially if you cover it with a prong. I don’t see the point of spending almost 5% more just to get a nicer looking certificate.
I guess i am looking for a VS2 stone more from a “prestige” standpoint. I don’t mind to spend a little more for it either, I just want to make sure it’s eye clean. (I read online that some VVS2 stones arent eye clean)
Thanks!
Sorry for the confusion. That diamond is eye-clean.
