Greetings!
Thank you for what you do here!
Would you say the inclusion in this diamond is prongable? https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut/1.01-carat-i-color-si1-clarity-excellent-cut-sku-182463?a_aid=dmnd1357
More suggestions for similar price you might make? A speedy response would be appreciated. I’m ready to pull the trigger!
Thank you!
Heh, I just recommended that diamond to another reader.
interesting! Thank you. Will it go well with this setting? https://www.jamesallen.com/engagement-rings/channel-set/18k-white-gold-bow-tie-channel-set-round-shaped-diamond-engagement-ring–item-506?a_aid=dmnd1357
Will color contrast of the supposedly G-I diamonds in the setting be an issue with the center stone?
Thank you!
That diamond will look great in that setting. I wouldn’t be worried about the color contrast in a channel setting.
I’m still hunting for my diamond. Can you give me your thoughts on these please?:
Thank you!
I’m sorry for the delay in responding. I took an impromptu trip back to NYC for a visit. Do you still need some help from us?
indeed! I was hoping to get something a little larger than 1 carat. budget of 6000 dollars for the diamond only. but if I could see that another 1000 dollars would make a big difference I could go that high as well. thank you so much for all of your help!
With that channel setting you should try to stick with an I plus diamond. I love this one for you and don’t see a reason to spend more:
Unless you want to go up in size, this is the one I’d recommend. Here is a bigger option:
What do you think?
Thanks Mike,
Right before you emailed I was considering these: Can you give me your thoughts? She may not go with a pave setting in the end. Is the J color on the second one a big deal ya think? It appears quite clean to me, no?
Thanks!

I would go with the first one. I really like it. I would not go with a J in a channel setting.
You’ve been more than helpful! One more if I may:
You said you liked this one from my last email: https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut/1.01-carat-i-color-vs2-clarity-excellent-cut-sku-138359?a_aid=dmnd1357 should I be worried at all about the “very good” on the polish and symmetry?
do you like this one better? Why or why not?

Thank you so so much for you help!
They are both beautiful diamonds. To be honest I prefer the first one. It’s a slightly better cut, and the medium fluorescence is an added bonus. The VG Pol/Sym grades don’t matter at all and the extra weight is un-noticeable because the diamond is cut more deeply (so they have the same circumference which is what you see with your eyes).
We spoke several months ago. A personal illness derailed my plans as I took a financial hit without insurance. I’m back on track and plan to get engaged next month!
This is the setting I’m looking at:
How about this diamond? would you have better suggestions in that price range or less?
Is the color OK with that channel setting? Inclusion prongable?
thanks again for all your assistance!
I hope everything is ok now. You didn’t forget what you learned from our convos, that is a good combination. I really like that diamond. You don’t even need to cover it with a prong (which you can); it’s eye-clean either way.
thank you so much! just making sure though that that diamond, won’t look yellow compared to the side stones in that pave setting?
I color is fine with that setting.
