Walk away from that diamond and that jeweler. Only a jeweler without a shred of honesty or integrity would sell a diamond with an EGL certificate. Here is our article on EGL for a full explanation.

What is your ballpark budget?
Preferably under $10k but willing to go to $13k. After you mentioned I should only stick to GIA or AGS I see that I will have to forego a bigger carat size as opposed to EGL.
So I am debating whether to forego getting a yellow diamond as I know it’s more expensive.
