I have found one with our local jeweler I, VS1, 2.08 ct, 7.81×7.32×4.28mm, rectangle moderate brilliance for $12,000 with no certificate available at hand and another F, SI2, 1.82 ct, 6.70×6.55×4.80, total depth 73.3, table width 74%, medium polished per GIA certificate for $10,750. What are thoughts on these diamonds and what would you suggest?
Honestly, any jeweler that lacks the basic integrity of selling diamonds with GIA/AGS certificates only should not be trusted at all. Technically the specs on the GIA diamond are ok (so long as there is no fluorescence and its eye-clean), but I wouldn’t trust someone like that at all.
Thank you for your advice. Do you have any diamonds or place you all would recommend I look at? I read on the website you usually make suggestions or recommendation to a particular diamond or diamonds.
I’d be happy to make some recommendations and guide you through the process. What type of setting are you considering? Yellow gold or white gold/platinum? Will it be a solitaire or does it have sidestones/pave? This may affect the colors that I recommend for the center diamond (as we explain in our post on color).
Let me know and I’d be happy to send you some suggestions.
It will be a solitaire necklace with yellow gold might even consider white gold/platinum if it looks better and has more of a pop to it. Probably just a simple setting to let diamond shine. I really appreciate any advice and help you can provide.
I’m sorry for the delay in responding. I was away on vacation. While I was planning on answering follow up emails, I came down with the flu (bad timing). Do you still want some help?
Yes I do and please guide me through this process. I have time to find the this diamond. I don’t want to rush this process. Thanks again.
What do you think of this diamond?

It’s a great cut, eye-clean (super important in a pendant), and an excellent value.
