I am in the market for a pear cut loose diamond (for an engagement ring). I went to my local jeweler and he showed me a beautiful 1.01 ct, G, SI2 for $5500. I went to the James Allen site and saw diamonds with similar specs for almost $2000 less! I would prefer to buy from James Allen because of the price difference but have no idea how the diamond will look in person. The diamond at my local store looked brilliant. Any suggestions? Do any of the pears catch your eye on the James Allen website? My total budget for the diamond and band is $5500. But if I could come in under budget with a good, quality diamond (at least one carat) that would be fantastic. Thanks
Was that diamond GIA certified? Are you sure it was eye-clean? SI2 princess cuts are usually not eye-clean.
Thank you. The diamond was GIA certified. I didn’t see any inclusions but then again, I’m not a professional. I just remember the diamond looking very brilliant. The online diamonds seem much much cheaper. I’m just concerned that they won’t look as good in person.
If you can get me the exact weight and GIA report # so I can look it up.
I don’t have it, I’m sorry. But if you could find a few pear cuts that you’d recommend on the James Allen or blue Nile websites that would be great! I have a budget of $5500.
I really like these:

What do you think?
They both look great! I think I like the second diamond better! Which one do you think is the better value? either way i can’t go wrong.
You’re a life (and dollar) saver:). Thanks for your help.
I think they are both great, so if you like the second one go for it.
