A couple days ago I wrote and asked whether the time of year impacts the inventories of diamond wholesalers. I am not sure if it does, but I’ve found these four diamonds that interest me. I am leaning towards the last one. What do you think? Once again, this website is a great resource.

I’d be happy to make some recommendations and guide you through the process. What type of setting are you considering? Yellow gold or white gold/platinum? Will it be a solitaire or does it have sidestones/pave? This may affect the colors that I recommend for the center diamond (as we explain in our post on color).
Let me know and I’d be happy to send you some suggestions.
Thanks for the reply. As for the details, I plan on getting a solitaire, knife-edge, white gold / platinum setting. I am not against a princess cut diamond or a pave setting either. I just assumed it would be easier to find a stone that is eye-clean with a round cut, and a solitaire setting would mean I could be more forgiving on color. I actually really like princess cuts, but it seems like there is less of a selection. I also noticed that its hard to mount a stone larger than 1.79 cts on a pave setting.
Thanks for taking the time.
With a white gold/platinum setting, you should stick with J+ on the center diamond. If the setting has pave, you need to go H+ (which means you will be dropping to a 2ct). I really like the 2.50 J VS2 you selected.
