I need assistance picking out a round diamond for platinum setting (SKU: 17002P or SKU: 11005P) on JamesAllen.com. My budget for the diamond if $13k. I can be swayed to spend a few extra hundred dollars if the purchase is worthwhile. I am completely overwhelmed looking through the JA website trying to sort through diamonds. Could you make some recommendations?
Thanks in advance. I look forward to hearing from you.
Do you have a preference between the settings? If you go with the pave one, you need to stick with a higher color center diamond.
Hey Mike. Pleasure to hear from you. In regards to the setting, i actually like the solitaire more if that makes a difference.
…….
I apologize for the barage of emails. While I like the solitaire, her best friend is telling me the pave setting. With that said, might you be able to make a recommendation for the pave as well? I am absolutely torn now. Whatever help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
I would recommend something like this:
These are both simple and elegant pave settings. You should focus on a nice eye-clean I color diamond.
I really like the first one. It’s bright, eye-clean and a great value.
Thank you so much Michael. I think I am going to go with the first setting you suggested (Twisted Pave).
In regards to the diamond, the first looks great.
I do have a question. I could afford to spend an extra $2k. Would it more worthwhile to allocate that toward the diamond (larger w/same or better quality) or upgrading the setting from 14k WG to Pt?
Thanks again for all your help. I truly appreciate it. Very nervous time in my life as you can imagine.
To be honest, I think the nominal gain in size is not worth spending money on. And there is no difference between WG and Pt.
