I was reading about cushion cut diamonds on your website, as I am on the hunt for one… Was wondering if you could help me in my search? Looking for: F color, 1 carat, VVS1/VVS2 clarity, chunky cushion cut (NOT crushed ice), excellent cut and symmetry. L/W ratio as close to 1/1 as possible. Went to a jeweler recently who recommended table < 60 and depth < 69… looks like you differ regarding the table, though.
I would recommend going a bit higher on table and try a bit lower on depth. I also think you should rethink your opinion on color/clarity. Check out these articles (especially the video on them).

I like this diamond for you:
What do you think?
Thanks for your thoughts–I honestly would like a better color and in the VVS range. I appreciate your advice, but I noticed the color and the inclusions immediately (my profession forces me to look at fine details, so I tend to notice things that others might not).
Have you actually seen a GIA G VS diamond? I have yet to meet someone that isn’t a trained professional who could tell the difference between an E and G once the ring is mounted (and even those professionals usually don’t see it unless they turn the ring upside down on a ultra-bright white paper). We generally recommend H SI for cushion cuts of that size, so I already recommended higher qualities than we feel necessary.
Obviously it’s your prerogative to go up in color/clarity, but I just don’t see the value.
Thanks very much for your thoughts.
Yes, I have seen different color diamonds with different clarities, and I believe I could see the difference. They weren’t mounted, though, because the ring hasn’t been made yet. I mentioned to you what I am searching for since that is what I want, even if you don’t see the value. Could you help me find something in that range? If not, I guess I’m back on my own.
These would be my recommendations for you in that range:
They are both fantastic cuts, but I like the depth on the 1.07ct better.
Thanks very much for these–these are more along the lines of what I am looking for. I appreciate your help.
My pleasure.
