Hello! I am SO grateful that I came across this site, as it seems like my husband and I were thinking that we were going to have to pay much more than we wanted to for a beautiful diamond with lots of fire and sparkle. So the attached picture is the setting that I want from James Allen (but with black diamonds around the halo instead) so I know I am looking for a princess, ideal cut diamond that is at least .75 carats but no more than .80. and our max budget for the stone is $2,500. (Preferably around $2,300) that is eye clean and GIA or AGS certified. I don’t know much about proportions, girdle thickness, symmetry, etc, so that’s why I am coming to you with this matter. Thank you so much for your time and here’s a link to the setting!
…
Actually, I would like to keep my budget from 2,000 to 2,300 if at all possible!
Here is the diamond I would recommend for you:
Its a fantastic cut, eye-clean and a great value. It will go great with that setting. What do you think?
The only problem is that the setting I want requires it to be at least .75 carat
When they say 3/4ct they mean 0.70ct. Contact them, I’m sure its fine.
The difference between a 0.70ct and 0.75 is virtually nothing. https://www.diamonds.pro/education/carat-weight/
You are correct, they can put that diamond in the setting without us having to pay extra (yay!) So you are saying that if you were to look at a diamond that is .70 and one that’s .75 carats, you wouldn’t really be able to tell much of a difference? I am wanting black diamonds around the halo and I’m concerned that it would make the diamond look smaller compared to having white diamonds… Thanks!
The noticeable size difference, at most, will be about 2%. The eye can’t see the difference.
