Hello,
I am ready to make a purchase shortly. I would like some help in picking out the right diamond.
I am looking for a round, ideal cut, 1+ carat diamond. It will be a solitaire placed on white gold or platinum. I am unsure of the cut and color.
Here are my recommendations:
Blue Nile LD13901809
Blue Nile LD13947375
Blue Nile LD13653285
Is that last one, the most expensive, as good or should I go for quality with the naked eye?
The price difference depends on many things: where the stone comes from, supplier, carat weight, how it’s cut (different proportions), the location of inclusions, different grades for polish/symmetry, different color, and clarity grades, etc. Each supplier prices diamonds differently. All are nice options, they have just different color/clarity grades. It’s up to you what you prefer.
I was thinking about moving forward with Blue Nile LD13653285 until I noticed the symmetry is “very good” compared to excellent on all the others.
Are there any similar with an excellent symmetry? Or would that matter much? What characteristics would an ideal diamond at 1 carat for white gold have?
That stone is perfect. It would look perfect in any setting. Also, you don’t have to worry about the polish and symmetry. You most likely won’t be able to distinguish the difference between good and excellent (https://www.diamonds.pro/education/symmetry/ and https://www.diamonds.pro/education/polish/).
Here are some other options:
Blue Nile LD13954836
Blue Nile LD13609370 (I really like this one, it has nice measurements and is superbly cut)
Thank you!!!
I’m going to be moving forward with the Blue Nile LD13653285. Thank you for your help. Before I purchase can you please confirm it is eye clean?
Yes, in my opinion, it’s an eye-clean diamond. I don’t think you would be able to detect the small cloud on the table. Bear in mind those videos are extremely magnified.
Thank you for your patience with me throughout this purchase, as well as your expertise.
My pleasure.
