Hi,
I’ve been doing a little bit of research on finding the perfect ring for my girlfriend. We’ve looked and talked her preferences. I live in the US and looked online about my local options, but I feel like I can get a better purchase at James Allen. I need help selecting the diamond.
She is interested in a heart shape and I’m not exactly sure what I should be looking at for the best price point. My price is around $1,500-$3,000. I am open to lab created as well because the price for quality makes sense. Thank you!
What style setting (solitaire, pave/side stones/halo) and metal (yellow/white gold, platinum) do you want to use? This may affect the colors that I recommend for the center diamond (as we explain in our post on color).
I want to use a pave/side stone setting and white gold, preferably 14k. My price for everything I definitely want to keep it under 4k.
Thank you.
Lab diamonds are a great alternative for people who prioritize size over a potential resale value, people who want to get the best bang for their buck now. If the resale value is important to you, then you should rather choose a natural mined diamond. It’s up to you and your preference.
I found a couple of options with slightly different shapes, do you think you could take a look at them and tell me what shape/L:W ratio you prefer more?

James Allen seems a bit short on lab-created heart-shaped diamonds at the moment, these two diamonds are the only options I can recommend for you, there was nothing lower in carats, only much higher:

I’ve been doing more reading and I think a natural diamond is the way I want to go. I think around 1 carat is where I want to stay if that’s the right size in my price range. As far as size goes I’m more lenient on the width than length. Also, I’m open to Blue Nile because of the selection on settings too.
Great, thank you for the update.
Here’s what I found on Blue Nile:
Blue Nile LD10173204
Blue Nile LD12609404
Blue Nile LD12879733
Does any of them look like something you’d want to consider?
I love the middle one! I think that’s the one.
Thank you for your help.
I’m glad you liked my recommendations so much!
