Q&A: Looking for a Round Diamond for a Halo Setting for Under $5k Budget

I need advice on the right type of diamond to purchase for a halo ring setting (ring size 7).

Looking at 1 to 2 carats total weight. My budget preference would be under $5000.

Are you looking for a round cut diamond? Also, what metal (yellow/white gold, platinum) should be the setting in?

First choice is round cut, for an 18k white gold setting.

They both are eye-clean, well cut and will look very bright and brilliant.

Since there is no significant difference in the actual size (look at the measurements), I’d go with the 0.96ct one.
