Hi,
I’m looking for diamond picks from Blue Nile. Budget is $15k-$19k. It’ll be set in a platinum ring.
Looking at the following ring:
French Pavé Diamond Engagement Ring
Overall diamond specs:
Color D-H
Carat 1.5-2
Cut Ideal- Excellent
Clarity VS2-FL
Fluorescence Med-None
Blue Nile LD15230098 – The medium fluorescence might cause a hazy/milky look in daylight. For J-H color, you can get diamonds with none, faint and medium fluorescence. The medium fluorescence may help the diamond look a tad whiter. In case of G-D stones, it’s better to avoid medium or strong fluorescence as it may cause a hazy/milky look (https://www.diamonds.pro/education/fluorescence/).
I found these alternatives:
Blue Nile LD14346948
Good finds. These two look promising.
The G is $1k more, but a VS2 vs the H VVS1.
Your opinion between these two?
The G colored diamond is nice, the inclusion might be covered with a prong (Blue Nile LD14346948). But I like the H colored diamond more as it has bigger measurements due to lower depth % and the medium fluorescence might help the diamond look a tad whiter (Blue Nile LD15155783). As a bonus, it’s significantly cheaper.
Thanks for the feedback. I went ahead and purchased the Blue Nile LD15155783.
Appreciate all your help.
That’s wonderful news! I hope the stone will meet (or exceed) your expectations.
