Hi there,
Could you review these diamonds if they are eye clean? Thank you.

This diamond is beautiful and has great overall specs. The only issue might be the color grade – while J looks colorless in a solitaire setting, it might have a yellow hue in a pave or halo where there are additional diamonds in the band.

This one is a bit too deep (62.7%). Ideally, the depth % should be close to 61.5 and never exceed 62.5%. Also, it has a Cloud as the only clarity characteristic which might be a problem even on a VS2 diamond. Plus, the same color issue.
May I ask what style setting you want to put the diamond into?
Thanks so much for the quick response. The first diamond (https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut/0.90-carat-j-color-vs1-clarity-ideal-cut-sku-8569491?a_aid=dmnd1357) seemed to speak to me so much that I’ve been keeping it in my cart constantly while waiting for confirmation from the pros! Haha. You can be sure I’ll attribute it to you guys!
I’m putting it in a solitaire setting. Thinking of a 18k white gold band. My girlfriend is a size 5.5 and prefers a white gold ring.
Some considerations I have would be,
1. 14k or 18k? Considering the colour of the diamond, would that make a difference?
2. Would 1.5 mm be too thin for the diamond size and ring size?
3. In considering these 2 settings. Which is better for making the diamond pop? Are there any other cuttings that you would recommend?
18K White Gold 2mm Comfort Fit Solitaire Engagement Ring (Six Prong)
18K White Gold Presentation Solitaire (Six Prong)
The first diamond will look amazing in a solitaire setting.
1) I’d recommend 14k white gold. It’s cheaper and more durable than 18k. There wouldn’t be a difference in appearance.
2) There’s no easy answer. Different people have different tastes and size/width perceptions. I’d say that 1.5-2mm is on the thinner side and looks great on a 5.5 finger.
3) Out of the two settings, I personally like the Comfort fit better as I like the rounder band, but that’s just my personal preference. Which one do you think would your girlfriend like?
Thanks for your invaluable feedback! I’ve placed my order! I went with a 14k white gold, Comfort fit in the end. Thanks so much for your help!
That’s great news! I’m glad I could help you find the perfect ring.
