Hi,
I am looking for an engagement ring (somewhere in the range of $2,000) and found this on James Allen.
Setting – 18K YELLOW GOLD SOLO INFINITY ENGAGEMENT RING
Diamond – www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut/0.60-carat-j-color-si2-clarity-excellent-cut-sku-5586476?a_aid=dmnd1357
My fiance loved the setting, so I am going with this one but I am not sure about the diamond if it is worth the price and has certified quality.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
First off, it’s the cut what makes the diamond’s “sparkle” or, as we call it, brilliant. The cut is the most important of the 4C’s (https://www.diamonds.pro/education/4cs-diamonds/). We like to keep the depth under 62.5% and the table in the range of 53-59% to maximize the brilliance (https://www.diamonds.pro/education/round-cut/). 63.2% depth means that most of the diamond’s weight is in its depth, not at the top which leads to a smaller diamond and the light won’t refract as it should. The second issue is the IGI cert. They are looser in grading than GIA or AGS (https://www.diamonds.pro/education/igi/). Also, the diamond you found is not eye-clean. That’s why I wouldn’t recommend going with it.
I’d recommend these instead:

www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut/0.50-carat-j-color-si2-clarity-excellent-cut-sku-5088610?a_aid=dmnd1357
They’re well-cut, eye-clean and brilliant.
Thank you so much for having a look and suggesting me better choices in my price range. I will mostly likely go with the first link you shared.
I also just found this diamond that I like more than the ones I sent before:

It’s clearer and will look better.
Thank you so much!
My pleasure. If you have any other questions, ask away. I’m ready to help.
Sorry to bother you again, but just wanted to show you this diamond

Could you please let me know what you think.
We always advise our readers to avoid getting SI diamonds under 1ct that have clouds mentioned in the first place in the clarity characteristics (there is no clarity plot in the certificate that shows how big the cloud is and where it’s located). Such stones may look cloudy and milky.
How about these?

I just found a new one which seems to be really good for its price. Please let me know what you think.
The diamond you found is nicely cut and has great specs without any red flags. Great find!
I will let you know how I find it once it is delivered.
Thank you so much for all your help.
It was my pleasure helping you.
