Hi, I was hoping to get this diamond in the classic solitaire ring. Do you think it is a good one? Or are there some others you think I should take a second look at?
www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/cushion-cut/0.75-carat-h-color-vs1-clarity-sku-8277232?a_aid=dmnd1357 – This diamond is nice. The cut is slightly deeper but it shouldn’t cause any problems regarding brilliance.
I found these alternatives:

I always suggest checking the actual measurements when comparing two or more diamonds.
These look great, thank you!
In your experience how quickly does a particular diamond get sold?
It depends on many factors. It’s hard to say when it’s going to be sold but usually, it’s not more than 3-6 weeks. Good diamonds usually get sold out very quickly. If you want, you can put a diamond on hold, I guess they can put it on hold for 48 hours. But inventories are updated on a daily basis so new diamonds are available every week.
Which one do you like the most?
I really liked the first one I had sent. This guy here: www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/cushion-cut/0.75-carat-h-color-vs1-clarity-sku-8277232?a_aid=dmnd1357
It’s a nice diamond with great specs. Whenever you are ready to pull the trigger, please let me know and I’ll search for some new alternatives so that you can choose from available diamonds.
I am getting closer to buying the ring. I’ve narrowed it down to 3 new ones. Please let me know what you think. The James Allen one will be going with the rose gold split shank. And the Blue Nile ones would be going with the solitaire setting in rose gold.
www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/cushion-cut/0.72-carat-h-color-vs1-clarity-sku-7648196?a_aid=dmnd1357 – This diamond is perfect.
Blue Nile LD13254429 – This stone is deeply cut, therefore, it wouldn’t be my top choice.
Blue Nile LD13687351 – This diamond is nice, perfectly cut.
I also found this alternative:
Blue Nile LD13570082
I looked at a few diamonds with “I” color and I was wondering if you could take a look and see if there is one that you would recommend.

Also, do you think that a large weight is worth it over higher quality? Like would you recommend one of those two instead of this one: www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/cushion-cut/0.70-carat-h-color-vs1-clarity-sku-8402741?a_aid=dmnd1357
Or this one: www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/cushion-cut/0.72-carat-h-color-vs1-clarity-sku-7648196?a_aid=dmnd1357
As for the I colored diamonds, they might show some yellowish hue. Are you going to go with rose gold, yellow gold or white gold setting/platinum? For yellow gold/rose gold settings with yellow gold/rose gold prongs, it might be an option. It also depends on how color-sensitive you are.
www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/cushion-cut/0.70-carat-h-color-vs1-clarity-sku-8402741?a_aid=dmnd1357 – This diamond is deeply cut. It might refract light worse than the other options with depth under 68%.
www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/cushion-cut/0.72-carat-h-color-vs1-clarity-sku-7648196?a_aid=dmnd1357 – Nice stone.
www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/cushion-cut/0.80-carat-i-color-vs1-clarity-sku-8363765?a_aid=dmnd1357 – This diamond is deeply cut and it has almost the same measurements as the one above.
www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/cushion-cut/0.80-carat-i-color-vs1-clarity-sku-8781041?a_aid=dmnd1357 – Also deeply cut.
How about these?

Always make sure to check the measurements, not the carat weight only.
Are there some round cut diamonds for a similar price you could recommend? Round cut diamonds will look bigger, won’t they?
As for the price of rounds and cushions, that’s a tricky question. Generally speaking, cushions are cheaper than rounds. If you compare a 1ct round diamond to a 1ct cushion diamond, a cushion will be most probably cheaper, but it will be significantly smaller. It’s about the different ways of how they are cut. Technically, a round diamond loses a lot more weight during cutting (from the rough diamond) so they cost more per carat weight.
So yes, you can get a heavier cushion cut compared to a round diamond. But your eye doesn’t see the weight, it sees the size. Specifically, you see the face of the diamond. Most cushion cuts are cut significantly deeper than rounds (that is natural to the shape). So more of the diamond is in the depth and less of it is noticeable on the face. There is no reason why you should stay away from a cushion cut diamond. Therefore, I would recommend you going with the shape you like the most.
