Hi there,
I love the website and have been using the information to try to help my hopefully soon to be son-in-law choose an engagement ring for my daughter. We are based in the UK so are looking at Blue Nile site for the purchase. He has a budget of £2,000 for the diamond and the setting and has chosen this setting:
Riviera Pavé Diamond Engagement Ring in 14k White Gold
He would like an oval diamond and the actual size of the diamond is more important than the carat size. I found some diamonds I thought might be suitable and would love your opinion on them, but any others you could suggest which would of course be welcome.
1) Blue Nile LD13946839 – It has a medium fluorescence which could cause a hazy/milky look in daylight. Since it’s an online purchase, I recommend letting this one go.
2) Blue Nile LD13551575 – I like this one a lot. One of my favorites.
3) Blue Nile LD13551579 – I’d say no to this one because of the bow tie.
4) Blue Nile LD13381148 – same reason – bowtie
5) Blue Nile LD13586536 – another favorite one. This one also looks great.
I found only one more that I would recommend in your budget category and that one was smaller in measurements than #2 and #5 of yours. If it was up to me, I’d choose #5 – I like it a bit better because the bowtie is more dispersed in the facets. But you can’t go wrong with either one.

No, it was H/VVS2 and it was very comparable to those you found but smaller in measurements. That’s why I didn’t even send it to you.
