Hi Diamond Experts,
I’m hoping to get your assistance with buying a diamond for an engagement ring. I would like to buy the center diamond with your assistance from James Allen (for the setting below).
My girlfriend believes that she has large hands, her ring size is an 8, and therefore I’d like to buy her about a 2 carat diamond so that it looks nicely sized on her finger. I’m looking for an oval shaped diamond and intend to spend about 20k.
14K WHITE GOLD BLOSSOMING VINE DIAMOND ENGAGEMENT RING
Thank you for all your help in advance. After reading all of your education material it’s obvious that I’m not capable of weighing all the many factors correctly and look forward to your support.
Here are my recommendations:

They’re well-cut, eye-clean and brilliant.
I restarted the search for a ring setting and center stone. This is the setting I’ve settled on with a marquise center stone.
14K WHITE GOLD MARQUISE CLUSTER HALO DIAMOND ENGAGEMENT RING
I’d like to get a 2 carat stone and spend about $20,000 on it.
That’s a beautiful setting!
Here are some great diamonds I found for you:

Thank you so much for all your help with this, what do you think of this stone?
I was trying to find the table value on the listing but can’t find it, do you see it anywhere?
You need to request the cert from JA directly. If you contact them via live chat, they will send it to you ASAP.
We don’t recommend D-G diamonds with medium or strong fluorescence – the fluorescence might cause a hazy/milky look in daylight (https://www.diamonds.pro/education/fluorescence/).
What do you think of these three?
Which would you choose (if any?)
This stone looks nice: www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/marquise-cut/2.02-carat-f-color-si1-clarity-sku-4273190?a_aid=dmnd1357. Usually, twinning wisps are not visibel to the naked eye. I think it’s a perfect diamond.
The second stone seems to be great as well (www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/marquise-cut/2.01-carat-f-color-si1-clarity-sku-7315740?a_aid=dmnd1357).
I don’t see any red flags in case of the third stone either (www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/marquise-cut/2.00-carat-d-color-vs2-clarity-sku-3705284?a_aid=dmnd1357). I personally like the first stone the most.
Which one is your favorite?
Well it looks like the first stone got bought just now, do you see any significant difference between the second and third stones?
Well, I like marquise diamonds with a higher L/W ratio so I would personally get the F colored diamond. But that’s up to you what you like more. Worst case scenario, if you end up not liking it, you can easily return it and choose a different stone.
Thank you so much for your recommendation, I did decide to go with the F colored diamond. I placed the order today.
