I have an oval diamond that I am seriously interested in buying from James Allen. My knowledge has taken me so far as to not be able to identify any major drawbacks. I was wondering if I could send you guys the specifics to get an opinion?
Please send me the link to the diamond and the cert and I’ll gladly comment on it.
Just so you are aware, I am planning on putting this diamond in a 14 carat yellow gold solitaire. I am slightly concerned about the color (since it is an I grade), but I feel like all other characteristics of this stone are great based on my research. I wouldn’t mind it not being perfectly white, but being a yellowish stone, in a yellow ring, I am wondering if it would like really yellow and dull? I know its hard to tell without seeing in person, but I was just looking for a second opinion!

I color won’t look any yellow in this type of a setting because the color will be absorbed by the darker ring (https://www.diamonds.pro/education/color/). However, if the ring has white gold prongs and yellow gold band, I would rather stick with H+. I color works well with a yellow gold band and yellow gold prongs.
As for the stone you found, it’s perfectly cut and it would refract light very well. The specs are great. Nice find! Can you please tell me how much is it? I might recommend some alternatives as well if you want.
Unfortunately, that stone sold shortly after I sent you the link. It was going for $3,510.
Now I am debating between these two:

The strong fluorescence might be an issue. In case of I-D stones, it’s better to avoid strong fluorescence as it may cause a hazy/milky look in daylight (https://www.diamonds.pro/education/fluorescence/). But medium fluorescence would help the I colored diamonds look a tad whiter. As for the H stone, I’m not a huge fan of the bowtie.
I would recommend these instead:

So I have officially decided to go with the last one (6888999). Thank you so much for your help.
My pleasure!
