Q&A: Looking for an Oval-Shaped Diamond for a Yellow Gold Solitaire Setting Within a £1,800-£2,000 Budget

Hi,

We recently got engaged and now we’re looking for my perfect ring.

I would love an oval diamond but with so much choice online I’m struggling to know how to pick the best one for our budget!

We’re based in the UK and have a budget of £1800 to £2000. I’ve been looking at diamonds between 0.6 and 0.7 carats.

Can you help? What should we be looking for?

What style setting (solitaire, pave/side stones/halo) and metal (yellow/white gold, platinum) do you want to use? This may affect the colors that I recommend for the center diamond (as we explain in our post on color).
