The information on your site has been extremely helpful to me. I have chosen a setting off of james allen, and I would appreciate some recommendations for a center stone diamond for a three stone engagement ring. My budget is $7,000, I would like an eye clean, round brilliant, minimum 1.0 carat stone. As much as I’ve learned from reading, I don’t quite trust myself to avoid any glaring inclusions. I would appreciate any help.
I’d be happy to make some recommendations and guide you through the process. What type of setting are you considering? Yellow gold or white gold/platinum? Will it be a solitaire or does it have sidestones/pave? This may affect the colors that I recommend for the center diamond (as we explain in our post on color).
Let me know and I’d be happy to send you some suggestions.
The setting I am considering is the white gold 3-stone ring from james allen, here’s the link:
I have read your information on color, from what I understand in that setting with a round diamond anything higher than an H is a waste of money. Am I close?
I appreciate your time and attention, I’m deployed at the moment and trying to get this ring before I get home for the proposal.
Yes, you should look for the cheapest eye-clean H+ diamond. I love this diamond for you:

It’s bright eye-clean and a great value. It will look great in that ring. What do you think?
That looks perfect, thanks for the recommendation. I’m excited to see and give the final product.
Thanks for your help.
Please let me know how it looks when it arrives.
